Intereligious Dialogue
An interesting story was told by my philo lecturer about a catholic sister that was on the council for intereliguos dialogue. He was giving a talk about toleration - why religions should tolerate one another. The sister spoke up to say that we should not just 'tolerate' but must actually love one another, adding that we all believe in the same God, and that all religions are fundamentally about love. My lecturer then asked her why she is catholic then. She didn't have a clear answer to give.
What do you think of this story?
Do catholics believe in what I call 'the doctrine of love' more than, say, Jesus Christ?
