Fr William celebrated mass for us this evening. He's what some people call a (dehm) drama priest, involved in the charismatic movement. I love him because he takes the mass seriously unlike what some other priests seem to show. He approached us after mass and congratulated us for 'bringing the experience of God' so wonderfully to the congregation.

"It is our job to bring the experience of God to the people. If we have not done that, we have not done our part."

I agree with him, but we must be careful not to think that celebrating mass or singing for choir is a job specifically with the purpose of bring the experience of God to others. The "experience of God" is not something that can be 'made' and 'given' just like that.
